Apple has just presented – via a simple press release – the tenth generation iPad, a little over a year after the release of the ninth. On the menu, an obvious makeover that now sticks with the other ranges of the firm at the apple that are the iPad Air, the iPad Pro and the iPad mini. Much straighter edges , substantially similar to those of iPhones as well.

With this, the screen is enlarged thanks to the end of the Touch ID button on the front . We thus go from 10.2 inches with the ninth generation iPad to 10.9 inches diagonally. However, the manufacturer has removed the 3.5mm jack. Which now involves going, for a wired listening solution, either through a jack/USB-C adapter, or through native USB-c connectivity. You can also consider other wireless headphones and earphones of course, like the AirPods Pro or the AirPods Max.

Performance

The new iPad 10 has an A14 Bionic chip, which is apparently the same as that of the iPad Air 4 and the four iPhone 12. What guarantee you a foolproof velocity, although the iPad Pro remain the best in this domain. To be sure, we will wait for the first benchmarks which will not be long in coming.

On the autonomy side, Apple announces that its tenth generation iPads will be able to hold a charge for up to ten hours in a row, the same figure as for the iPad 9. To be checked in real conditions of course, but with its modest technical specifications the new iPad should not consume a lot anyway. And for communications, the manufacturer has provided Bluetooth 5.2 with Wi-Fi, in addition to AirDrop and AirPlay without surprise and with 5G.
