Today, Apple provided an update on its subscription services and the worldwide App Store, stating that the tech giant has already paid out a record $320 billion to app developers since 2008 – a figure that includes the money apps have produced, less Apple’s fee. The tech giant added that it now has over 900 million paid memberships across all of Apple’s services, with subscriptions to the App Store accounting for a “substantial” portion of that total.

The app store receives more than 650 million weekly visits from people in 175 different countries and regions, according to the business, and it continues to offer fresh experiences. The release of Apex Legends on mobile earlier this year and the rising recognition of BeReal, Apple’s “app of the year,” as a brand-new social networking platform were two highlights.

Apple also highlighted data from other services, stating that the number of songs available on Apple Music has surpassed 100 million, and that the number of monthly listeners for Spatial Audio has tripled since the service’s introduction. Shazam passed the landmark of 70 billion Shazams overall on its 20th anniversary in 2022.

In the meantime, Apple Fitness+ expanded its repertoire of exercises and meditations to 3,500. With “CODA,” Apple TV+ made history as the first streaming platform to take home the Best Picture Oscar. Following the announcement of a 10-year collaboration between Apple and the league, Major League Soccer matches will start to stream on the Apple TV app in February.

In 2022, more than 50 games were added to Apple Arcade, the company’s gaming subscription service, including Warped Kart Racers, Jetpack Joyride 2, Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, Wylde Flowers, and Cooking Mama: Cuisine. There are currently over 200 games available on the service.
