I should also point out a bit of news that has seen little coverage in the wake of Katrina.
During a religious festival earlier this week, an estimated 800 Shi’ite worshippers died following the spread of rumors that there was a suicide bomber nearby. The crowd, filled mainly with women and children, rushed toward the Baghdad Bridge, which collapsed under the group’s weight.
This has been a very tragic week, indeed.
