love your post, rima. :)

entertainment, pop culture, art - they're my passions, so i usually find it very difficult to pick a "favorite" anything.
a few months ago i read chuck klosterman's "killing yourself to live," and he said something so painfully obvious i'm surprised i hadn't realized it sooner (and i'm paraphrasing): "art and love are the same thing: it's finding yourself in things that are not you."
i LOVE that idea, and i think it's true.
so, especially in the last few months, i realize how much i love things - music especially - that i can identify with and see myself in. i have my all-time favorites - the beatles, jeff buckley - and bands that i'm Really Into Right Now, and if they're good enough, i'll still like them in a year, or 5 years, or 20 years - like tame impala, male bonding, etc.

THAT'S FUNNY! Don't feel bad having to use Excel. It really is hard selecting favorites when you love a band as much as you do.

I feel the same way about Pink Floyd. "The Wall" is a very impressive album. "Animals" is pretty intense with its Orwellian themes. Who couldn't love "Dark Side of the Moon"? I can't pick a favorite albu, so much as a favorite song!
